Mooney Shares his 40-Year Spiritual Journey, Disenchantment, Surrender, Awakening
Wow! If tonight is an example of what is in store for the weekend, those attending Stuart Mooney’s workshop this weekend are in for a treat. Mooney’s matter-of-fact western approach to spirituality is refreshing, light and at the same time, it reaches in and touches you in a very deep way.
It is not only what he says. The stories are engaging, insightful and funny. It also is the energy behind what is said. After a day of 64-Deeksha with the San Francisco Oneness community, several of us were already floating in an altered state before arriving. Ramana Das Silbey set the stage by playing on piano/keyboards In the Key of Deeksha. When Mooney began speaking, it felt as if the entire room shifted.
Meditative, deeply meditative are the words that best describe the experience. Profound, transformative, transported, could also be used. In the company of Buddhas at the enchanted NeXus Temple, time and space both disappeared. Where were we? In Nepal, India, Indonesia, Bali? When was it? This lifetime? Some other life time? The eternal now?
Whenever or wherever, tonight an assembly of beings, through whom the Divine is expressing the longing for truth, awakening, enlightenment, and service to humankind were blessed with the experience of Stuart and his wife Irene, anchoring the Divine Presence.
