Lake Merritt Oneness Launched

Long-term Commitment to New Public Space in Oakland

On Thursday, Lake Merritt Oneness held its first weekly circle in Oakland.  The group met in a beautiful setting – the main sanctuary of Lake Merritt Church overlooking the Lake. Oneness Trainer Gwendolyn Mitchell and Oneness Blessing Giver Kathryn Pielage announced the intent to support the expansion of Oneness in Oakland and throughout the Eastbay.

“We have a one-year lease with Lake Merritt Church,” said Mitchell. “We are committed to creating a place for the community to gather, bring friends and family, and invite others to experience Divine grace.”

About 20 people came out on Thursday.  Kathryn opened the circle with a prayer and Gwendolyn led the group through a Chakra meditation.  Oneness Blessing Givers shared individual blessings, followed by a collective blessing for loved ones and the global community.

Mitchell also invited participation from the community.  “We want to see every chair filled in this sanctuary,” she said, encouraging participants to help spread the word. “Let’s work together to create varied Thursday evening gatherings.”

Lake Merritt Oneness also plans to hold public talks to introduce newcomers to the Oneness phenomena.

If you would like to participate, Lake Merritt Oneness meets in the sanctuary at Lake Merritt Church, 1330 Lakeshore Avenue, Oakland, CA 94606, from 7:00 p.m. − 9:00 p.m., on Thursdays. There is no charge. Donations are accepted to cover costs.
